Love to munch on something every now and then? Hmm…junk food… something all of us would always reach out for but have you ever thought about the type of damage which it could do to you?

Here is a suggestion ladies. Why not try munching on digestive biscuits?  Yes, those normal brown coloured biscuits which we dip into our tea or coffee in the evenings.

According to The Livestrong, digestive biscuits are extremely healthy as it is rich in fiber. It doesn’t contain any fructose syrup or colouring which could damage your health. You also wouldn’t have to worry about growing fat at all with this biscuit.

Digestive biscuits would not have the same taste as your junk food but it is way healthier. In fact, yesterday, we decided to try out a simple recipe. Many say digestive biscuits can be made at home and we tried it out. It tasted great and we would like you to try it out as well.

Here is the recipe of the digestive biscuit which we tried out from All Recipes.com. The calorie count for one serving is 90 and the total amount of fat in one serving is 4.1g. Isn’t that pretty healthy?

Ingredients

90g whole wheat flour

30g all-purpose flour

2g baking powder

5g  oats

55g butter

55g brown sugar

60ml milk

How do you combine all of that and make it become digestive biscuits? Well here you go lovelies. Preheat your oven to 190 degrees.

1) Sift the all-purpose flour and the whole wheat flour together and combine it with the baking powder and oats into a bowl.

 2) Mix the butter and sugar together in another bowl and add it into the mixture. Once you have mixed eveyrthing evenly, then pour in the milk. .

3) Mix the entire mixture until it becomes a thick paste. Kneed the dough on a floured surface until it is smooth. Roll it out and cut it into any shape.

4) Ensure that the shapes are not too thick because then it would take a longer time to cook. Once you have placed it onto your greased tray, prick the centre of each cookie with a fork.

5) Put them into the oven and bake it for 15 minutes or until it turns golden brown. Leave it to cool and place it an airtight container.
