Scottish recording artist, Amy Macdonald has just released her third album (June 11) and here’s what we have to say about it!

The one thing we’ve noticed about Amy Macdonald is that she will not put down her guitar – and we’re not complaining. If she’s holding her guitar on her third album, it just shows us that she is still sticking to her roots – she started with the guitar, so we hope she never lets it go.

Life In a Beautiful Light is an album that describes the coming of age. Going past relationships and heartbreak – Amy is now talking about growth and the real troubles of life. The learning experience of maturing.

If you listen closely to the lyrics of several songs like “The Game” and “Life In The Beautiful Light”, you can feel the whirlwind of emotions – the way she talks about getting back on your feet, and how things do get better. It gives you a sense of independence and strength.

There is a lot of positive energy flowing in this album, and it’s a nice change from the usual heart-break or love titles. We feel that this album is mature, and well-grounded.

If you’re going through a hard time or perhaps are in need of some soul searching, or just need a good boost of encouragement, then we definitely suggest you listen to a couple of the songs on this album! It might do you some good.

We feel that this album has a big mixture of genres. That is what makes it pretty unique. There’s a bit of rock, country and even a pinch of indie… at least, that’s what we’re hearing. Everyone listens to music different, so tell us what you guys think of ‘Live in a Beautiful Light’!

Top three choices from this album:
1.) Slow It Down
2.) The Furthest Star
3.) Life In A Beautiful Light
