No, we’re not going to tell you the usual tips like, “Make sure you keep your belongs safe” or “pack light” … But, we are here to tell you the tips that people seem to always miss out on- here are the smack straight tips that people never really tell you when it comes to traveling.
Especially in this era that we are living in – we feel it’s important for you ladies to get this down.
Tip #1 – ARRIVE IN THE DAY
Sure, we know that night-travelling saves a little on the pockets – but if your planning to travel alone then it will be worth it to spend a little more to arrive while the sun is still out. This is good for several reason… First of all, people love conning tourists (or even locals) during the night. Especially cab drivers. They’ll always give you the excuse that it’s past their bed time, and they’ve been working overtime. Reason number two is as simple as vision. When your travelling during the day, you can easily spot things and routues more easily. Plus, don’t you want to enjoy those historical sights when the sun light is out?
Tip #2 – DRESS APPROPRIATELY
Let’s face the fact here ladies – travelling is not about looking fashionable. If your travelling on a budget, then it’s down to wearing the same pair of jeans with a different top. There is no need to pull out your LBD’s and place it in your suitcase – who are you planning to impress? Especially if your travelling alone. Dressing provocatively will only add more trouble to your plate. I mean, we’re not saying that you have to look like you’ve been wearing a potato sack the whole trip – just tone it down on the uber short sexy outfits and heavy make up looks. Dress comfortable and appropriately – it’ll make travelling so much more simple. And besides, it’ll save you a LOT more suitcase space if you skip out on bring those 4″inch heels!
Tip #3 SKIP THE BLING
There’s no need to show off those diamond heart shapped knecklaces or even that extra shiny ring you’ve saved up for. The less bling, the less problems you’ll have. Diamonds, gold, silver… anything shiny.. that is the one thing that’ll stick out and it is also the one thing that peple will aim for. Plus, this is another thing that’ll save you some space in the luggage!
Tip #4 EXERCISE HOTEL SAFETY
If your travelling alone and you’re planning to stay in a hotel – then there are small things that you should consider when you check in. Try to ask to get a room that is infront or beside the lifts. Don’t ask for a room at the far end of the hall. That’ll just be scary for yourself and a heavier risk of trouble. Also, try asking for a room on the lower floors. It is easily reachable and you don’t have to worry about having awkward long evevator rides with strangers. Another thing – don’t ever leave your belongings around. If it’s important, keep it in the safe or with you at all time. Housekeeping may be helpful hand in cleaning – but they are also professional snoopers.
Tip #5 DON’T ALWAYS TRUST A FELLOW TRAVELLER
Sure, all travellers have the same intentions but there’s no need to spill all your travelling secrets and your plans. Stay on the surface when it comes to meeting other travellers. As helpful as they can be – take a few tips from them and just keep the rest to yourself. When it comes to traveling, only trust yourself! (No matter how good looking the guy is)
