You hear many ladies going around saying that they want to lose weight and all of a sudden your best friend approaches you and says that she wants to be vegetarian.

Some women are serious about it and they can go all out to become pure vegetarians in life. But most of the time, women who do it because they want to lose weight miss out on important facts. The extreme no-no in becoming a vegetarian  is that you cannot afford to be choosy when it comes to vegetables. You just need to eat everything.

Angelina Jolie claimed that “I love red meat. I was a vegan for a long time, and it nearly killed me. I found I was not getting enough nutrients.” There is no problem in being a vegetarian but you need to just be extremely careful and pump yourself up with enough supplements to ensure that your body functions well.

Scot Hughes explained that losing weight by becoming a vegetarian all comes down to mathematics. If you eat less calories then what you burn, you loose weight. Same amount then no difference and if you eat more than what you burn, then you’re going to put on weight.

Here are some tips on how you can eat healthy and lose weight at the same time. We can’t tell you how much you should eat as it varies from one person to another. To know how much you should eat, then try using the calorie calculator and match your diet accordingly.

Do not jump into the vegetarian diet and be on the extreme side as your body will start to fall apart. You will become extremely lethargic and if you may end up eating twice as much as to what you ate previously.

Additional tips which you should consider when you are on this diet according to Newsmax is that you should add in heart friendly fatty acids such as omega-2 and monosaturated fatty acids inside your diet. To obtain sufficient amount of vitamin D, make sure some sunlight touches your skin for at least 15 to 20 minutes per day.

Avoid processed food and substitute your processed cheese with crumbled tofu and replace your cup of milk with rice milk, soy milk or almond milk.

With a little bit of effort and by being less picky, this diet can work for you but at the same time, do it in stages and do not make a drastic change as your body needs time to get adjusted. For starters, perhaps you can be on the vegan diet twice a week.
