It was a day to remember, when mothers were honoured during Jacob’s “Queen For A Day” event that took place at The Apartment, Suria KLCC.
There was no better way to celebrate Mother’s Day in advance, what more on a rainy Friday as Jacob’s treated Malaysian mothers to an afternoon of pampering treatments to honour their lifelong contribution to nurturing families with healthy lifestyles. The event was the culmination of Jacob’s “Ibuku Inspirasiku” aka “My Mother, My Inspiration” campaign.
“Queen For A Day” witnessed a gathering of eight “Ibuku Inspirasiku” weekly contest winners as well as many members of the media with their mothers or wives for a luxurious pampering session including:
- Manicures
- Hand and Shoulder massages
- Mother-daughter portraits
- Basic health checks
- Gifts from Jacob’s healthy range of products
Prior to the announcement of the Grand Prize winners, Sunil Sethi (MD of Kraft Foods Malaysia) said, “Jacob’s believes that a strong foundation of healthy eating habits is built in the home by caring mothers. For generations, Jacob’s has also provided Malaysians with a wide range of healthy and nutritious crackers and biscuits. We are thus delighted today to honour these inspiring mothers as we prepare to celebrate Mother’s Day.”
According to Kraft Foods Malaysia, over the previous eight weeks, they received more than 5000 entries comprising poems, songs, and even a couple of cartoons detailing just how inspiring mothers are to their children.
“We are very encouraged and touched by the stories of Malaysian mothers submitted by their children. Mothers are indeed truly a pillar of strength in the family and an inspiration to nurturing children to lead healthy lives”, Sunil Sethi added.
Grand Prize winners Low Wai Yean, 29 and Zamzarina Zakaria, 32, walked away with RM30,000 cash each and the once in a lifetime chance to be in a Jacob’s television commercial. Other prizes worth approximately RM300,000 were up for grabs, including the eight sets of 37 weekly prizes consisting of:
- An Osim uAstro massage chair
- An Apple iPad 16GB
- 2x Fitness Concept Cross Trainers
- 33x RM500 worth of La Gourmet vouchers
One thing’s for sure, the global snacks powerhouse has certainly showed Malaysian daughters and mothers alike how a 100% heartwarming celebration of Mother’s Day is done!
