Valentine’s Day has turned ugly for another couple in Bukit Mertajam.
A 24-year-old clerk, Tan Ching Chin and her 31-year-old boyfriend were having a heated argument and her family home on Valentine’s Day itself. There is no statement that given on what they were aruging about. But, this arugment lead to both of them being stabbed. The argument between the two started at about 8.45am after Tan recieved a phone call from an unidentified man. It was also said that Tan’s mother and maid were in the house at all times when this was happening.
Somewhere in the middle of this heated argument things started to get a little too violent to handle. Tan Ching Chin’s boyfriend stabbed her three times and she died on the spot. It is said that after stabbing his girlfriend, he stabbed himself four times, but is still in the district hospital in critical condition.
The maid was the first one to witness the entire incident, after hearing all the arguing – she made her way to check on them, only to find Tan lying motionless and naked in a pool of blood while the boyfriend was struggling with his wounds. She then alerted the mother who was asleep at the time.
.It is also said that the couple have only been together for six months – but everything seemed really good for them and they were ready to spend Chinese New Year together, according to their family members. (source)
It is confirmed that Tan Ching Chin died from stab woulds in her chest and abdomen – and the police have also recovered the knife.
