Will you be surprised if we told you that this Asian-American YouTube sensation actually didn’t want to become a performer? Yup. It’s something we can’t quite comprehend either, what with all that talent.
David Choi plays the guitar, piano, violin, ukulele, mandolin, and banjo, on top of serenading millions of girls on his YouTube channel. His carefree, weightless musical style (similar to Jason Mraz) shot him to stardom the moment the music videos for his previous singles, “Won’t Even start” and “That Girl” went live.
To date, the Korean cutie has over 957,137 subscribers, 106,910,987 total video views, and more than 13 million channel views. As of November 2011 he is YouTube’s 15th most subscribed musician and 62nd most subscribed user. We know, we know, all he does is keep a straight (read: poker) face in his videos.
So how did he garner so many fans?
Well, all we can say is, pure talent. And you will only believe it when you see it. Here, watch his latest music video, “Missing Piece”:
