In an ideal world, there will be one food that upon consumption, provides you with vitality and longevity. In today’s world, we have plenty of such food and they are famously referred to as the Superfood. If your childhood dream was to be Superwoman, you just might be halfway there. Or are you?

We are often bombarded with health articles and advertisements of such foods. Top ten, top five, the superest food. You probably read them all. Question is, just how true are these claims?
When something gets labeled as a superfood, most of us will automatically assume that it is extra super duper healthy and we should go out of our way to eat more of it. Not that we will, but maybe we’ll try eat more of it.
There are hundreds, maybe thousands of important nutrients (vitamins, antioxidants) needed in our diets, and the reality is we probably don’t know what all of them are, let alone what functions they serve in our bodies. The problem gets even more complex when you factor in the context of our genes, environment and other foods we consume.
To their credit, the superfoods we’ve seen are usually legit healthy foods. They tend to be berries, greens, fish and other natural ingredients. In other words, they are what you are supposed to be eating to begin with. So, why the need to label it Superfood?
Before you run out to stock up on the latest Superfood yet again, maybe you should put pen to paper and come up with a balanced diet plan. A little of everything will never fail you!
