When we hear the term “sulam”, we immediately think of the sulam, square-shaped scarf style popular among local hijabis between the years 2000 and 2010. That design faded in appeal over the years, but it’s making a comeback in the form of a rectangular shawl.
Sulam shawls are currently being worn by younger hijabis who want modern but ornate styles that even the older generation would fancy. It’s a novel spin on a basic shawl with sulam sewn on the edge to give your style a more traditional feel. With that said, here are 5 ways you can wear your sulam hijab.
