It’s nothing new at this point for a TikTok user to spend mind-numbing hours scrolling through endless videos every day. In fact, some videos on your “For You Page” can be quite educational, with topics like space, cooking and even carpentry occasionally popping up. However, for the girlies and gays who love makeup, spending hours on MakeupTok is a blessing, as not only are we fed with good makeup recommendations. but hacks and routines that will up our makeup game.
Speaking of makeup routines, one routine that has caught the eye of the beauty community is Erika’s “Glassy Skin” complexion regimen, which is just breathtaking. For those who are unaware, Erika Titus is a TikTok content creator who posts on pretty much everything and anything, from lifestyle vlogs to random dance trends. However, recently, her makeup videos have been blowing up and one particular video has stood out amongst all – one in which she shared her skin complexion routine, which is now trending on MakeupTok.
After posting a selfie of herself on Instagram, many flooded her account with comments asking her what products she used as a base to get that gorgeous and glowing glass-like skin. Erika soon shared on her TikTok account what products she used – and also a full-blown tutorial on how to achieve that glass skin effect.
@erikatitus my “glass skin” base routine 🙂
After prepping her skin, Erika starts to apply the Supergoop! Glowscreen Broad Spectrum Sunscreen Primer SPF 40 PA+++ all over her face. The product not only gives your skin the much-needed SPF protection from UV rays, but also “a natural healthy glow”. She then proceeds to give her face a generous spritz of the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray to hydrate and moisturise her skin, before moving on to what she deems her holy grail product.
Once her face is set, Erika goes on to explain that she doesn’t use a foundation product, but instead, Dr.Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment as her base. Mixing the cream well on her fingers, she then lightly taps the product all over her face. As you can see from the video, the product already blends out well on her skin, giving it the right amount of coverage as well as that “glass skin” glow. With the rest of her complexion routine, she applies minimal concealer to conceal her dark under eye circles and any blemishes.
The key to maintaining that glow-like effect is, says Erika, not setting her face with any powder at all. She also doesn’t even use any other product in the form of powder. She finishes the rest of her base routine using Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand and Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in the shade Encourage.
Pretty easy to achieve, if you ask us! The “glass skin” makeup trend continues to thrive within the beauty community, and with the help of Erika’s base routine, practically anyone can get that desired look with just a few of these products!
