This past weekend (3-4 September), the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre (MVEC) held SneakerLAH, the highlight of every local sneakerhead’s year. It was an event that epitomised sneaker culture, where local sneaker lovers and international sneaker brands talked and breathed all things sneakers. As SneakerLAH is also a marketplace, the event saw all major sneaker brands promoting their latest releases and promotions.
Speaking of new releases, major sports footwear and apparel brand, New Balance, unveiled its collaboration with South Korean streetwear brand, thisisneverthat at SneakerLAH. As part of its fifth capsule 2022 Fall/Winter collection, New Balance launched a variety of sneakers, including apparel pieces inspired by ‘90s morning joggers.
The iconic 1906R and 2002R were among the sneakers released by New Balance X thisisineverthat. The new 1906R is a stylish homage to the original, fusing modern technology with everyday utilitarian style. The new 2002R, on the other hand, revisits popular running shoe styles from the 2000s, paired with a leather upper to complete its retro-modern look. Both models feature Stability Web and N-ergy technology for improved arch support and comfort.
Visitors to the New Balance booth at SneakerLAH got up close and personal with the 1906R and 2002R, as well as other iconic New Balance drops, such as the 9060, 1906R, 2002R, and 574+ models.
Those who purchased any of the iconic New Balance shoes became eligible to win exciting prizes, including exclusive New Balance merchandise and the Sneaker Freaker x New Balance 574 book, which was produced in collaboration with Sneaker Freaker. It was a thrilling day for all sneakerheads and New Balance fans!
