It’s no secret that one shawl can create numerous hijab styles – and that includes turbans as well. Many hijababes have been embracing the turban style, which was a trend during the 80’s and 90’s in Malaysia. It’s a simple hijab style that only covers your hair that can elevate your look in an instant.
Doing a turban is actually pretty simple compared to any other hijab style. More often than not, it doesn’t even require that many pins, if at all. Thus, if you’re looking to sport a turban for any upcoming occasion, here are some turban inspos and tutorials for you to try.
Turban Style #1
This requires no pin at all, and you’d only need to tie two ends of your shawl and voila, you’re done. A simple and sophisticated turban look with a long and flowy end that drapes elegantly on your shoulder. Plus, this turban is so easy and quick to do, you don’t even need to fuss over it, unlike other hijab styles.

This one requires a bit of patience, but bear with it, as in the end, it’ll be completely worth it. Much like the previous turban style, you don’t need to use any pins – but you do require a lot of wrapping to make sure the ends are not left too long. With wrapping around the back of your bun, your turban has a lot of volume to it and it’ll make your turban style much cleaner.

Turban Style #3
Another long and flowy turban style, but this time, with a whole lot of pizzazz! It may look complicated on the side, but it’s actually quite simple and easy to do. A couple of pins and wrap here and there, and you’re good to go! It’s much chicer than the prior two styles above, and will make your entire look appear more elegant and sophisticated.

Turban Style #4
Let’s take it back to the old school ways with this turban style that was all the rage during the 80’s. For this, you may want to opt for a cotton square type shawl (bawal) instead of a normal long shawl. It’s a unique and simple turban to do that requires no pin as well – only tying at the back to keep it secure. Now, your whole look will give off a more retro and vintage vibe.
