So.. Micro-blogging social networking platform Twitter just announced that they are currently testing 280-character tweets, which is double the amount of the current character limit of 140.
The company wrote in a blog post, “Our research shows us that the character limit is a major cause of frustration for people tweeting in English”.
“When people don’t have to cram their thoughts into 140 characters and actually have some to spare, we see more people Tweeting — which is awesome!”
But here’s the thing – we don’t know about you, but we actually take pleasure in successfully jam-packing whatever we have to say in under 140 characters and it gives us some sort of satisfaction no words can explain.
