Mujirushi Ryohin, aka Mujirushi or MUJI, is a Japanese company that sells.. well, just about everything. With a full range of slightly overpriced yet high-quality interior goods, including furniture, linens, drapes, and appliances, you could furnish just about your entire home with items from the Muji product lineup.
It is the shop we imagine picking up our homeware from when we are established fancy adults living in our own minimalist apartments. Now that’s when we can finally call ourselves ‘accomplished’.
In spring 2019, will be expanding into the hospitality business by opening its first hotel, located in Tokyo’s fashionable Ginza district. The hotel will live inside a giant Muji superstore, with floors one to six serving as the shop, while floors seven to ten – and part of six – will be the hotel.
And yes, every part of the hotel will be decked out in Muji’s minimalistic furniture and amenities. Just think of how lit your ‘gram will be.
This won’t be the first Muji hotel to open, as the company has announced that that they’d be opening a hotel in Shenzhen, China, around the end of 2017. Since the one in Japan is planned to open in 2019, we’ve got plenty of time to save up for plane tickets and a giant shopping budget.
Muji already sells prefab houses and “huts” in Japan, so it’s only natural for the brand to expand their services in the hospitality industry.
