Hitting rock bottom, and head-shaving included.
Lifetime has debuted the first trailer for their Britney Spears biopic entitled Britney Ever After, but it hardly gives a happy look at the singer’s time in the spotlight. The trailer gives us our first look at Australian actress, Natasha Bassett in action as pop sensation Britney Spears, showcasing the musician’s life from every angle.
According to Lifetime, the biopic aims to document the pop princess’ entire life, diving into the tumultuous story of pop icon Britney Spears’ rise to fame, fall from grace and eventual triumphant resurrection.
Sure, the footage shows Natasha Bassett as Spears dancing, singing and even embracing husband Kevin Federline at their wedding. But the trailer also shows Spears as she hits what she calls “rock bottom,” including famed moments such as when Spears shaved her head and when she attacked paparazzi with an umbrella.
Watch the video and tell us what you think:
Natasha signed off the video by coyly saying, “I need to be strong for my fans, they’re what keeps me going.”
Wow. Talk about being petty, Lifetime. Although we’re not die hard fans of the starlet, we still think this is a cruel attempt to make money out of other people’s misery. It’s reported the real Ms. Spears has not been involved or supported the Lifetime produced biopic in any way.
The movie drops on 18 February 2017.
