The 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards took place recently, and left the entertainment industry SHOOK. Hosted by the beautiful Vanessa Hudgens at the iconic Barker Hangar, Los Angeles, the awards celebrated and honoured some of the biggest stars in the movie and television industry. The main event was followed by the Movie & TV Awards UNSCRIPTED Edition, hosted by Tayshia Adams, who praised the all-time jaw-dropping, no rules, dramatic reality television series. All this and more on this epic and global event!
The Southeast Asia premiere will be airing on June 8th starting at 7pm (Thailand and Western Indonesia), 8pm (Singapore and the Philippines) and 9pm (Malaysia) on respective MTV Asia Channels.

2022 MTV MOVIE & TV: BEST MOVIE
This year has been filled with great, award-deserving films. The nominees for this category are Dune, Scream, Shang-Chi and The Legend of the 10 Rings, Spider-Man: No Way Home, The Adam Project and last but not least, The Batman. We have some of the most epic movies lined up, but obviously, there can only be one winner. The awards goes to…. drumroll please…. Spider-Man : No Way Home.
BEST SHOW CATEGORY
Hold up ya’ll – this one is a tough call. We witnessed some of the best shows that kept us really busy this year. From Inventing Anna to Loki, the infamous Squid Game, Ted Lasso, Euphoria and Yellowstone – these shows are unforgettable and have made an insane amount of fans. However, this year’s show, which snagged the MTV Award, is Euphoria.
BEST PERFORMANCE IN MOVIE
The nominees for this category are legends and iconic stars that have made their movies worth watching. We have the stunning Lady Gaga for House of Gucci, Robert Pattinson for The Batman, the gorgeous Sandra Bullock for The Lost City, the charming Timothee Chalamet for Dune and the handsome Tom Holland for Spider-Man: No Way Home. The winner for this category goes to the people’s all time favourite, Tom Holland.
BEST PERFORMANCE IN A TV SHOW
Here are the nominees in this category. Amanda Seyfried was nominated for The Dropout, Kelly Relly was nominated for Yellowstone, Lily James was nominated for Pam & Tommy, and Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya were nominated each for Euphoria. I think we know the answer to this one. The winner for best performance in a show goes to the lovely Zendaya. I mean, boy, was she fabulous in Euphoria!
Hollywood Sweethearts (Tom and Zendaya) can go home with their popcorn trophies. Fair win, ya’ll.
BEST HERO CATEGORY
We have Daniel Craig nominated for best hero in No Time To Die, Oscar Isaac nominated for Moon Knight, The beautiful Scarlett Johansson nominated as best hero for Black Widow, Simu Liu nominated for Shang Chi and the Legend of the 10 Rings, And of course everyone’s favourite hero, Tom Holland for Spider-Man: No Way Home. The winner for this is… Scarlett Johansson for Black Widow. Indeed the hottest hero in town.
BEST VILLAIN CATEGORY
What’s a hero without a villain? These are best villains nominated by MTV. Colin Farrell for The Batman, Daniel Radcliffe for The Lost City, James Jude Courtney for Halloween Kills, Victoria Pedretti for You, and Willem Dafoe for Spider-Man: No Way Home. The best villain award goes to… Daniel Radcliffe for The Lost City.
BEST KISS CATEGORY
We live for kiss scenes, and shows in 2022 have given us the best of them. Here are the nominees that created a spark on screen and left us swooning. Hunter Schafer and Dominic Fike for Euphoria, Lily Collins and Lucien Laviscount for their heated kiss in Emily in Paris, Poopies and the snake in Jackass Forever, Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravitz for The Batman, and last but not least we have Tom Holland and Zendaya’s kiss on Spider-Man: No Way Home. The winner for the best onscreen kiss goes to… Poopies and the snake in Jackass Forever.

We all love a good comedy show, and MTV has nominated some of the most amazing comedic actors. The nominees are Brett Goldstein for Ted Lasso, John Cena for Peacemaker, Johnny Knoxville for Jackass Forever, Megan Stalter for Hacks, and Ryan Reynolds for Free Guy. Such tough competition as they all were hilariously good in the shows, but the win for this one is… Ryan Reynolds.

We have Alana Haim for her performance in Licorice Pizza, Ariana DeBose for West Side Story, Hannah Einbinder for Hacks, Jung Ho-yeon for Squid Game, and Sophia Di Martino for Loki. The winner that had the best breakthrough performance is… the talented Sophia Di Martino.

2022 delivered some jaw-dropping fight scenes and MTV is not going to let that slide. The nominees in this category are Black Widow vs Widows in Black Widow, the chaos between Cassie and Mandy in Euphoria is also nominated, as is Guy vs Dude in Free Guy. The Shang-Chi bus fight that got you on the edge of your seat is in, and the most thrilling one of ’em all – Spider-Man: No Way Home’s end battle. This one may have gotten us a little emotional. We stand for crazy fight scenes and so the winner with the best fights is… Cassie vs Mandy for Euphoria.

Here are the nominees for the best frightened performance is horror films. Jenna Ortega for Scream – she had the best scream, Kyle Richards for Halloween Kills, Mia Goth for X, Millicent Simmonds for her thrilling performance in A Quiet Place Part II, and Sadie Sink for Fear Street: Part Two 1978. Taking home the popcorn trophy on this one is… Jenna Ortega.
BEST TEAM CATEGORY
Here are the nominees that had the best teamwork, and possibly good chemistry on screen too. Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino and Owen Wilson are nominated for Loki. The beautiful Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short are nominated for Only Murders in the Building. We cannot forget the trio of 2022 Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, nominated for Spider-Man: No Way Home. Ryan Reynolds and Walker Scobell are nominated for The Adam Project. Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum and Brad Pitt – the combo we never knew we needed – are nominated for The Lost City.
