The 18-year-old girl who was missing since December 13th 2013 was found dead with a 24-year-old man who is believed to be her lover. Both of them were found with multiple stab wounds in his apartment in Damansara Damai, in which he had rented two months ago.
Their bodies were discovered by a debt collector who went there to receive payment for monthly rental at about 1:00p.m. on Wednesday, December 18th. The police said the lovers had been dead for about six days before their bodies were discovered.
They also discovered a knife beside the man’s body in the living room and it is believed to be the murder weapon used. The deceased have been identified as construction worker, Mohinder Pal, who was found with seven stab wounds whereas the girl, K. Shanmugavalli was found sprawled on the bed in the master bedroom with five stab wounds.
Selongor deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Abd Rahim Jaafar said the girl’s parents did not inform the police about the pair’s relationship during initial investigations.
DCP Abd Rahim said, “We are investigating the case from all angles, including the possible motive of jealousy.”
“There are no signs of a break-in other than the lock that was broken by the debt collector,” he added. He also said that the police are searching for missing items from the apartment he had rented.
The girl’s family claimed her body at the Sungai Buloh Hospital on Thursday, December 19th.
