Summer just got a whole lot better! Aside from spending more time in the sun and basking in some Vitamin D, it’s also important to always protect your eyes. Fashionably, of course. Luxottica just spilled the tea on one of the most important events dedicated to eyewear, the 2022 MIDO Eyewear Show! It features the latest fashion eyewear from Burberry, Emporio Armani, Giorgio Armani, and Prada. Let’s take a look at these luxurious eyewear collections that will complete your summer wardrobe!
Burberry
The Burberry Spring/Summer 2022 eyewear collection for men and women features the signature oversized silhouette with more contemporary styles. Exploring the concept of identity, it emphasizes the fluidity of femininity and masculinity, as well as the strength of self-expression.
Some aspects in the collection, such as the hardware on the classic Olympia bag, were influenced by Burberry iconography. The range is made in Italy and includes frames and lenses made from bio-materials such as cellulose and castor oil, and the bio-acetate frames are biodegradable.
Emporio Armani
For a more sporty look, the Emporio Armani eyewear collection exudes allure and vitality. The restyled iconic silhouettes, wrap-around models with a dynamic and sporty look, and the slim metal frames with original shapes add recognizable elements to any outfit!
The light blue of the delicate rounded frameless lenses have a hint of pink, and the wavy transparent bridge with the Emporio Armani emblem printed on the temples have an avant-garde style, coupled with delicate pastel tones. The sporty and dynamic sunglasses, however, are available in green or matte brown and are complemented by a special multi-coloured cord made of recycled polyester.
Giorgio Armani
Giorgio Armani’s Spring Summer 2022 collection features iconic silhouettes in warm, soft colours – from amber honey to tobacco. Sophisticated and contemporary, the designs have been handcrafted with sustainable materials.
Inspired by ’80s style, these new Icon optical glasses with a rounded panto shape are made of tortoiseshell acetate with honey and amber tones. The streaked deep havana Icon sunglasses also have a retro touch, according to the brand’s historical archives.
Prada
The Prada eyewear collection for women interprets the brand’s stylistic codes with a contemporary language. The key elements of Prada Eyewear collections are explored and re-contextualized. In the new Prada Symbole collection, bold volumes, sophisticated three-dimensional features, and crisp lines are mixed and paired with an exclusive range of vibrant Havana hues.
Prada’s triangular emblem has been reinterpreted as a distinctive detail thanks to its uniqueness and modernity. Its simplistic and universal shape is integrated into the stylistic elements of the frames. In the recent fashion show, the eyewear was defined by futurist inspirations meeting a contemporary style, lines becoming essential, and the structure taking on a wraparound and modern design. Clear non-prescription Blu-Ray lenses with a specific blue light filter are introduced in this collection, ensuring visual comfort during prolonged exposure to digital devices.
Retro accents and futuristic inspirations, on the other hand, inspire the new Prada Men’s eyewear line. The eyewear seen at the season’s fashion show has a wraparound structure and a basic design that is stripped down to its essentials, interpreting a minimalist style. Blu-Ray lenses with a specific blue light filter are also included in the new Prada Men’s line, ensuring visual comfort during prolonged exposure to digital gadgets.
