Introducing Duke Fine Durian, located at Fahrenheit88 in Bukit Bintang. This posh dessert café adds a touch of luxury to Malaysia’s distinctive sweet and pungent fruit. The first of its kind in the country, Duke is dedicated to durian fans and curious foodies looking for new ways to enjoy the fruit. The café’s interior decor includes a real durian tree as its centrepiece!
According to Marketing Manager, Ernest Lee Chi Yeung, they’re on a quest to redefine durian enjoyment in Malaysia and beyond. They’ve created menu offerings – fresh durians, cakes, and pastries – that showcase the distinctive intricacies of the fruit’s flavour profile, using only the most exclusive selection of local durians on the market. The major goal is to challenge people’s perceptions of the King of Fruits by offering a gastronomic experience unlike any other.
Among the 25 items on the menu, the Durian Platter is evidently the star of the show. Diners can choose from five durian varieties, including D197 and Green Dragon, each of which will be coupled with unexpected garnishes such as gold flakes, matcha, cheese, and more, to enhance the texture and flavour of the fruit.
Besides that, there are other delicacies, such as The Durian Oyaki (Japanese English muffin with durian), the Durian Charcoal (durian custard tart with a charcoal croissant base), and the Durian Croissant – which are all one-of-a-kind in-house creations that you won’t find anywhere else!
Duke Fine Durian also has Matcha Yuzu, juices, an assortment of Chinese teas, and coffee if you want something to drink with your sweets.
Each Duke durian is hand-picked by professionals to display the nuances of artisanally grown durians, a delicacy for the sophisticated palate that highlights the strength and diversity of Malaysian Durians.
