Malls all across the Klang Valley are adorned in their most festive Hari Raya decorations to express the excitement of being able to finally celebrate the occasion, with our friends and relatives back home, after two years of the pandemic. Suria KLCC is no exception, as they are proud to exhibit Hari Raya’s dazzling spirit by going all-out!
Suria KLCC has begun its massive Hari Raya Aidilfitri campaign, with the celebrations beginning in the Centre Court. The mall’s Hari Raya theme this year is “Raya at Atuk’s Orchard,” with customers and tourists alike experiencing the holiday celebration in a kampung home situated in an orchard!
The environment will transport you back to your childhood; of visiting loved ones in a traditional rumah kampung, inspired by ‘Rumah Melayu Melaka’ with its colourful designs. With an orchard, ‘pangkin’ (wooden hut), chicken coop, and beautiful fruit trees all draped with festive lights and ‘lampu pelita,’ the backdrop is ideal for Instagram-worthy photographs. During the campaign, traditional childhood pastimes like ‘teng teng’ (hopscotch) and ‘congkak’ will also be on exhibit in the Centre Court.
Throughout the mall, there are also enjoyable activities to participate in, such as in picture booths, where shoppers can have a pleasant family moment by taking “Family Portrait” images with a complementary photo print-out and e-copy to stimulate social network uploads. To add to the joyful atmosphere, there will be cultural dance performances too!
That’s not all – at the Esplanade KLCC, Suria KLCC is displaying Malaysia’s Biggest Lampu Pelita Replica, with the centerpiece meant to convey the spirit and joy of Ramadhan and Syawal!
“Malaysia’s Biggest Lampu Pelita Replica, as recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records 2022 – measuring 17 metres in height and 12 metres in width, is our contribution to enliven the atmosphere in the city for Ramadan and Syawal. As Malaysia’s premier mall, we believe in doing our part to bring much needed cheer to everyone following two years of living through the various forms of the movement control order.” – Encik Md Shah, Management of Suria KLCC Sdn. Bhd.
To add to the joy of Ramadhan, ‘kurma’ (dates) will be placed at the Concierge Counter ten days before Hari Raya, or commencing April 23, as a reward for those who have been fasting for the day. From now until May 1, shoppers who spend RM1,500 or more in two receipts at any specialty store will be rewarded. Suria KLCC shopping vouchers worth RM100 will be given, as well as a set of Suria KLCC Raya envelopes.
