It’s apparent that we’re all looking forward to celebrating Raya this year, especially now that the borders are open and we can see our extended family members. That’s why, come Raya, we have to look extra fabulous. So we’ve finally found the perfect baju kurung to wear on the first day of Raya, as well as the perfect hijab to go with it. The main issue for us hijababes now is is finding the right style in which to don our hijabs.
Hijabs can be a bit finicky, so it’s always a good idea to practise styling them before the big day, especially if you want to try out new looks. It’s a huge day for us who absolutely love to dress up, so we have to try something new every once in a while. So, here are 5 different ways to wear your hijab this Hari Raya.

A soft and simple look that requires literally no pins and is incredibly fuss-free. A simple hijab style that nicely frames your face, making it look smaller and concealing some features that you may be glad to conceal. If you want to securely hold your hijab, you can put pins in areas where you need the grip. Otherwise, it’s a basic and elegant hijab style that we recommend all hijababes attempt this Raya.

Nothing beats going all out, right? If you want a more retro, but still modern, vibe opt for a turban style that cascades onto your shoulder beautifully. While turbans are normally more difficult to master, this specific style is simple to do. Plus, you’ll be able to show off your stunning earrings in this design, taking your Hari Raya ensemble to the next level. Any hijab will look wonderful with this style and will surely make you the main character for the day.

We all adore the traditional yet simple hijab style that secures itself by tying the two ends around our backs. THIS hijab style, on the other hand, is elevated, to make you appear more opulent and delicate, especially if you have a silky hijab. A silky satin hijab frames your face elegantly and is absolutely fuss-free. Plus, you’ll only need one pin for this design because the knot at the back secures the hijab and prevents it from slipping about.

Have a bawal hijab for this Raya? Not a problem. Despite it being a square shawl, there are tons of ways you can style it. You could go the obvious route where you pin underneath, but why do so on a special day like Hari Raya? Elevate your bawal hijab game by turning it into a classic turban with a twist. Instead of pinning the bawal around your jaw, simply pin it behind your head and tuck one end of the hijab on your shoulder for that effortless yet chic look. It brings out nostalgic feelings and is the perfect combo for a batik baju kurung.

Another style that is so simple and pretty is letting your shawl cascade on one side of your face. It’s a lovely hijab style that looks fantastic in pictures for your Instagram feed. This style helps you appear more delicate and it will make you look absolutely stunning. It requires little to no pins, and you can simply achieve this look with any type of hijab you like.
