Malaysians are understandably thrilled to be able to spend this year’s Eid with their friends and family now that the country’s borders have reopened and we shift to an endemic stage of Covid-19. Pavilion REIT Malls are right at the front of the line, welcoming guests to celebrate Hari Raya with festive shopping, buka puasa reunions, good times, and thrilling prizes!
Pavilion KL, one of Pavilion REIT’s subsidiaries, is going above and beyond this year’s Hari Raya celebrations, bringing an international flavour to the festivities. It celebrates with ‘Eid In Harmony,’ an international, cross-cultural showcase that honours Malaysian and Iranian ancestry, culture and customs.
“Iran and Malaysia share the same Islamic values and Asian traditions which uphold respect for the family and society. Cultural discourse is all about making the right perceptions about others through better understanding and respecting others. I believe by active and meaningful cultural diplomacy utilising the exchange of ideas, values, and traditions and of course by performing arts, live music, film screening, handicrafts, food and tourism, we would be able to know each other better and entertain the beauty and diversity of other cultures. I am also very pleased and grateful that two governments and private entities are supporting the enhancement of our cultural programmes and intellectual engagements,” – H.E. Ali Asghar Mohammadi, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Malaysia.
Pavilion KL is also pleased to collaborate with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, Kraftangan Malaysia, and Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) to showcase Malaysia’s stunning handicrafts, arts, and culture at the ‘Eid In Harmony’ Marketplace, in order to promote Malaysia’s local craftsmanship.
Furthermore, Pavilion KL is also showcasing Iranian culture through festive décor, gifts, activities, and shopping experiences following the celebration of the Persian New Year from 2 to 7 April with authentic Iranian products and interactive activities at the Centre Court.
Raya gifts and souvenirs may be purchased from a selection of Malaysian and Iranian handicrafts on display. There are also other immersive activities for customers to enjoy, including the first live Persian carpet weaving demonstrations in Malaysia, enamelling on copper crafts workshops, and musical and dance performances from both cultures.
It doesn’t just stop there, as Pavilion KL is bustling with seasonal delights and product offerings that will make your shopping experience a memorable one. Purchase a trendy Raya dress from Variante, pair it with a lovely headscarf from Arzu or dUCK, and discover your distinctive smell from Arabian Oud. Catch the latest blockbusters at Dadi Cinema, then finish your day with a tasty Middle Eastern iftar at Al Halabi Gourmet Restaurant and a cup of coffee and dessert at Pavilion KL’s newest café, The Coffee Academics.
And what better way to pair your purchases than with rewards! Shoppers will receive customised Raya packages inspired by Iranian and Malaysian architectural elements with a minimum expenditure of RM150 (or RM100 with Maybank Credit or Charge Cards).
With a minimum expenditure of RM200, customers will receive a complimentary RM20 meal coupon, and with a minimum spend of RM300, shoppers will receive a toiletry pouch and gift set. With Maybank as Pavilion KL’s official banking partner for 2022, cardholders will receive a free Corelle Livingware four-piece set with a single receipt purchase of RM1,000 and a Vision Casserole Dish with a purchase of RM2,000.
