Now, Wet A Minute! What’s The Verdict On The ‘Wet Hair’ Look?

You’ve probably seen celebrities sporting the ‘wet hair’ look, which is a sleek and sculpted hairdo that makes you appear as if you’ve just emerged from a swimming pool while still looking gorgeous. The instant Kim Kardashian appeared at the 2019 Met Gala in a Mugler ensemble with wavy wet hair – the very image of a California girl walking out of the water, damp and dripping – this hairdo went viral. Since then, celebs like Zendaya, Megan Fox, and even JLo have been seen with wet hair.

How To Get It

Believe it or not, to achieve this wet hairdo, you don’t actually have to wet your hair. I KNOW! You just need to combine hair gel and cream. If you just use a gel, your hair will be hard as a rock, and if you only use a cream, your hair will look oily, which is not a good look. A wet hairstyle can already make you look like you haven’t showered for a week, so styling it properly is super important as well. Oh, and don’t forget a good hairspray too, to add a bit of shine, much like how your hair would look coming out of the water.

Here’s a simple tutorial by Alexandra on TikTok on how she attempts to create the wet hairstyle.

Yea Or Nay?

Now, do we think that everyone should try this look? Not necessarily. It’s a pretty chic hairdo to do for when you have a glamourous event to go to and you wish to look super avant-garde. But we’d also say that it’s not really the best hairstyle to go for, just because of how much of a hassle it is to create. With just one bad move, your hair will seem extremely unpleasant, as if you haven’t washed in a long time.

We recommend skipping this hairstyle – but if you want to try it out, go all out! Maybe you, too, can look like all the celebs that have graced the carpet with amazing wet hairdos.
