adidas Running has unveiled a new colorway for the UltraBoost running shoes, the newest addition to the classic UltraBoost series. The UltraBoost 22 was first released in mauve in December 2021, and is now available in an energizing new shade inspired by summer escapism.

The adidas UltraBoost 22 boasts a 4% higher front energy return than the UltraBoost 21 for women, according to a team of all-women designers. The UltraBoost 22 is developed to produce a 360-degree fit improvement for the female foot, based on women-specific insights and an online anatomical library of 1.2 million foot scans conducted and studied by footwear and technology researchers Jura, Žabkar & Džerosk. adidas Running will take its dedication to the female running community to the next level with the release of the latest UltraBoost 22 colorway.

Making a long-term difference in women’s safety

adidas will co-create an educational campaign with White Ribbon, a global organization driving the discourse on the issue of male violence against women, and human rights advocate and author Amanda Sussman, with the goal of improving women’s safety while running.

Regardless of the fact that an increasing number of women have started to explore their options via running in recent months, worries about their safety remain paramount. Women have been advised for years that they should not run alone in the dark or wear fluorescent clothes to remain safe. Telling women how to behave, on the other hand, merely puts the blame for harassment and sexual assault back onto them.

adidas is seeking to overcome the core causes of male violence against women by combining the knowledge of White Ribbon and Amanda Sussman to co-create a programme that will educate and have a worldwide impact. 250+ Adidas Runners coaches and captains from 71 cities around the world have been given an educational playbook produced by adidas, White Ribbon, and Amanda Sussman to start off this ambitious goal.

The playbook outlines in-depth allyship tools and action measures to assist communities in better identifying and addressing challenges, with the goal of creating a safer running environment for female athletes all around the world. It will also inspire men and boys to examine their conduct and take responsibility to ensure that everyone is safe to run as they like.

Facts about UltraBoost 22 Running Shoes

  • 360° Fit Improvement Based On The Anatomy of A Female – It’s built on a brand-new design based on female anatomical knowledge. This design has a smaller heel, a lower instep, and the S-Curve heel that works in tandem with the heel counter to allow the Achilles tendon to circulate.
  • PRIMEKNIT+ – The PRIMEKNIT+ forged zones are created with yarn that contains 50% Parley Ocean Plastic and provides an adaptable fit.
  • Energy Return – The revamped upper and LEP Torsion system, in combination with the renowned boost midsole, provides greater energy return, with a 4% increase in forefoot energy return over the ULTRABOOST 21 for women.
  • LEP – The Adidas Linear Energy Push is a refinement of the Torsion System, which works in tandem with the boost midsole and newly designed outsole to provide a more responsive ride.

“With the establishment of this initiative, we are extending our commitment to our female running community to a new level. We recognized we had to focus on teaching the next generation about this emerging issue if we wanted to have an influence and make a difference. We feel we have established something that can actually help make a lasting impact on women’s safety while running thanks to the experience of White Ribbon and Amanda,” remarked Rebecca Gough, Senior Manager, adidas Running Communities.

The executive director of White Ribbon, Humberto Carlo stated that their mission is to put an end to gender-based violence and discrimination of all forms once and for all. They would also like all men to fulfill the White Ribbon pledge – to never participate in, condone, or remain silent on the matter of male violence against women.

They will reach and educate more people, especially men and boys, to change their behaviour and become active allies in creating a safer, inclusive, and violence-free future for everyone through the partnership with adidas and Amanda. Use the hashtags #ULTRABOOST22 and @adidasrunning to join the conversation on Instagram and Facebook.

The adidas UltraBoost 22 is available for RM799 at all Malaysian adidas retail stores, including the adidas Brand Center Pavilion KL, adidas Brand Center Sunway Pyramid, as well as via the adidas app and adidas.com.my
