Pokémon is an immediately recognisable icon – and its collaboration with one of the world’s most beloved clothing retailers is always cause for celebration. After their last blowout collaboration, UNIQLO and Pokémon have joined forces once again – this time, with the participation of “magma,” a new artist duo gaining worldwide notice. Their lively imagination has resulted in a new collection brimming with innovative Pokémon charm and appeal!
Jun Sugiyama and Kenichi Miyazawa, a Japanese artist partnership, make works from waste materials, resin and motor appliances using a unique perspective. The partnership branched out into furniture, products and interior design. The team is well-known in Japan and worldwide for their nostalgic works that combine analogue components with crazy hues.
This year, on March 21, global fashion store UNIQLO will release the second Pokémon Meets Artists UT (UNIQLO T-shirt) collection. In August 2021, the first collection was released. UTs (UNIQLO T-shirts) include a wide range of real pop culture and art designs from around the world, allowing users to express their uniqueness. Magma, known for their unusual scrap collages, contributes unique perspectives on Pokémon to the collection.
For this collection, the duo has employed helmets, balls, binoculars, and stationery, and other scrap items with diverse textures to recreate Pokémon, adding fresh appeal, such as Pikachu and Magikarp. KIDS’items draw inspiration from the game screen for designs representing Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, and other Pokémon, creating a lovely collection that will please people of all ages. Check out amazing designs for men, women and kids!
