You Glossed The Line! Lip Oil And Lip Gloss… Which Should You Get?

When it comes to lip cosmetics, the beauty industry has been killing it. Lipsticks, liquid lipsticks, lipgloss, lip plumper, and now lip oil are all available. Some of our beloved lip products have been replaced with lip oils as well. It’s the most moisturising product to have, and because lip oils generally contain a tinge of colour in the composition, you don’t even need to add any other lip product underneath to add colour to your lips.

One of the most talked about lip oils is the DIOR Lip Glow Oil, which has people in its death grip because of how beautiful the shades are, and the formulation is just immaculate, leaving your lips super plump and hydrated.

The Beauty Look Book

Lip oil generally has a light tint and a high-shine finish owing to the composition, and it nourishes your lips all day. Lip oils are being added to the lineups of several well-known cosmetics companies, and they may be found in any colour.

Now, does this mean that we should get rid of our lip glosses? When you look at it, lip oils are basically lip glosses, since they provide a super glossy finish to your lips and come in so many shades – so why bother using both when one already serves the function?

Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil / Fenty Beauty Fu$$y Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer

WRONG! Lip oils and lip glosses are totally different. The don’t serve the same purpose, even though both can be very hydrating to your lips.

Lip glosses are often rather sticky, which allows them to endure throughout the day. They’re also quite pigmented. Lip oils, on the other hand, make your lips’ shade look more natural, but they fade away faster than lip glosses.

So, which is the better option? The wonder of makeup is that you can literally choose anything your heart desires. One product may not work for you, but it may work for someone else, and that’s totally fine. If you want, you may buy both lip glosses and lip oils, and maybe you’ll come across your holy grail along the way.

We’ve curated a list just for you for our top recommendations for both lip glosses and lip oils available at Sephora.
