Olivia Rodrigo’s 2021 will most certainly be remembered as one of the most memorable years of her life. It saw the release of her debut smash track, “Drivers License”, and led the music industry to make way for the ascent of its newest hitmaker. The single launched the 18-year-old into superstardom – and even meme immortality.
Soon after, she released her debut album Sour – a work filled with youthful memories, childhood tunes, and a jaw-dropping voice to tie it all together with a purple bow. Furthermore, Olivia’s adoring fans were eager to learn the truth about the infamous rumours of a love triangle involving her High School Musical: The Musical co-star Joshua Basset, and Sabrina Carpenter. As a result, when it came to the Sour track list, fans started to piece her writing intentions together.
But now, they won’t have to because Olivia announced the release of her debut documentary, Olivia Rodrigo: Driving Home 2 U, on February 18—and oohh, we can’t wait for some behind-the scenes tea…
The artist shared the news on Instagram, offering a preview of the film and explaining that the documentary chronicles the development of her studio album; and resolves and answers all fans’ speculations and questions once and for all. According to the “Deja Vu” singer, the documentary will highlight the “heartache” album and her experience with a broken relationship in which a male treated her, well, not so politely. It’s almost like a tell-all documentary.
Good for you, miss gurl. We’re gonna get our popcorn ready.
