Eyebrow bleaching sounds scary, right? I mean, who would want to possibly put bleach on their face? Well, that would be a lot of people, including the one and only iconic girl-boss whose mom sold a video of her giving a blowjob to her boyfie of the moment for cash – Kim Kardashian.
Anyway, the point is that it might be a scary process, but for a stronger and editorial look – why not? The process is basically taking the colour completely out of the eyebrows being very impactful and more of a statement, which ultimately gives you a more intense look, so you can scare off those conservative and nosy relatives during family gatherings that won’t stop bothering you with a bazillion questions about your personal life (privacy, please?)
This being said, let’s now learn how we can bleach our eyebrows in a safe and easy manner, so we don’t lose our tiny precious eyebrow hair.
Step 1: Prep
Right before you bleach your brows, wash and dry your face. Make sure not to bleach right after a hot bath or shower or it can irritate the skin and make it sensitive to the bleach. Most importantly, apply a barrier cream – it can be body lotion, Vaseline, or aloe vera gel to the skin around your eyebrows.
Step 2: Mix your lightener
Mix together the bleach and the developer. Once the two have been combined, brush the mixture onto your eyebrow hairs using a tiny brush or cotton swab, being extra careful not to get any on your clothes, and of course, in your eyes (duh?).
Step 3: Patience is key
After applying, leave the bleach on your hair for anywhere from five to twelve minutes, depending on how light you want your hair to be and how dark your natural hair is. Be careful to not leave the bleach on for too long or it could cause irreversible damage, and you really don’t want that.
Step 4: Wash it off
Wipe the mixture off of your eyebrows using a wet washcloth first. Then follow up by washing your face completely to ensure there’s no remaining bleach that can irritate your skin. Ta-da, and you’re done!
So, understand that bleaching your eyebrows don’t make you crazy if that’s what you’re concerned about. Just be you, do you, and for you!
