Let’s talk about the shocking news that dropped in the Malaysian entertainment industry, recently.

Hans Isaac, an actor turned entrepreneur, delivered a major bombshell earlier this week when he revealed his decision to leave the entertainment industry. According to the seasoned actor, he does not envision himself as an actor, producer, or director in the future.

In a statement published by The Star, the ex-FINAS chairman had said:

“I have no more passion in that (acting and producing motion pictures). Our industry is monopolized by a certain group of people. I no longer see the future here. It’s that easy. So, I have quit. I have chosen another path, which is as an entrepreneur.”

He also explained how only in other industries can people enjoy a life after retirement and reap the benefits, while others in the entertainment business would suffer hardship even after retiring.

“Out of 1,000 people, perhaps only 50 can enjoy the benefits. The rest will continue to struggle throughout their lives. Therefore, there is no point in pursuing something that does not promise a stable life, especially after we retire.”

Some took the news of Hans’ retirement fairly calmly, while others have had a hard time digesting it. Among them is award-winning actress, Sharifah Amani, who took to Twitter to share the devastating news – while also throwing major shade at people in the entertainment industry.

It’s no secret that Sharifah has been critical of the entertainment industry – she has said that it is filled with naive actors and actresses; and that the casting process is unfair, with production crews mostly choosing their cast based on who has the most followers on social media platforms.

So criteria sejuta lebih nie benefit siapa sebenarnya?? 😫😫 pic.twitter.com/sE9gBnsrDp

The Twitter post above, shared by the Sepet actress, includes a screenshot posted by Namron on Instagram of a cast requirement that they have have 1 million Instagram followers. Sharifah showed her disdain towards the requirement by stating:

So, the one million criteria benefits to whom actually??
