Harry Styles is definitely, hands down, one of the best-dressed musicians of this century; from his teen-throb days as a One Direction member, to his solo artistry, the man’s revolutionary fashion sense has really evolved over the years. The English singer-songwriter went from his staple rock star outfit of a printed shirt and skinny-jean-and-boots combo to a more confident (and heavily-adorned in Gucci) approach to his style, consisting of flossy suits and feather boas.
With a confident attitude to style, Harry became the face of Gucci’s tailoring campaign in 2018, introducing what has since become his hallmark aesthetic. His debut solo album also marked the arrival of Harry’s new trademark style of gender-blurring ensembles which has shown him adorned with stacked heels, his signature fistful of rings and even womenswear – seen here in his iconic yellow pantsuit worn at the BRIT Awards.
Do I still need to prove how iconic his fashion sense is? I don’t think so. Without further ado, here are some outfits inspired by Harry Styles’ style (…get it?)
Keeping it simple
Sure, this could seem like the simplest thing you can throw on, but let me guide you on how to make it look like something Harry would wear. Don a simple yellow tee (either fitted or loose), which you’d want to tuck into a pair of high-waisted flare pants, and pair them with Chelsea boots, some amber-shade sunnies and a couple of assorted rings.
Plaid bottoms
Now this is for a cleaner and classier look. Get yourself a pair of beige plaid bottoms and pair them with a simple tee. On your feet, you wanna go with mid-heel ankle boots to give yourself a little height and accessorise with a plaid purse to complement your pants. Finish off with simple gold hoops and some minimalist rings and there you go!
Sweater vests for the win
Another simple outfit influenced by Harry. Here, we’ve got a little sweater vest as the base of the outfit. Then, you want to pair it with the essential high-waisted flare pants or jeans and some converse chucks. Throw in a pair of sunglasses, some simple gold jewellery and you’ve got it!
And for our hijabi sisters, all you gotta do is wear a puffy blouse under your vest, just like Muslim model and Muslim rights activist, Rawdah Mohamed, who also happens to be a Fashion Editor at Vogue Scandinavia!

JW Anderson Patchwork Cardigan
If you’re following in the footsteps of Harry’s fashion style, you wouldn’t dare to miss this one. The iconic multi-coloured knit cardigan by British fashion label JW Anderson was initially a custom piece curated for the ‘Golden’ singer to wear during his performance on The Today Show. With the global pandemic of 2020 keeping everyone subdued to boredom, fans all over the world began replicating their own cardigans which eventually led to the knitting trend on TikTok. Impressed and honoured by the trend, JW Anderson generously shared a step-by-step guide to knitting the patchwork cardigan for anyone to make their own.
