Trends come and go extremely fast these days. You might see it pop up somewhere on social media platforms such as Instagram or Tik Tok and all of a sudden, poof! Gone like the wind.
With how fast trends fade away, we couldn’t really take the time to appreciate these fashion items. You might be familiar with some of the fashion pieces that we’re about to mention but here is a list of fashion trends that died way too early.
Bucket Hats
I remember going out and seeing people donning bucket hats everywhere I go. Regardless of whether they are hijabi or not, bucket hats were considered a staple at some point to complete their ensemble. All of a sudden, they are gone. Completely out of sight as if bucket hats were never a trend.
Tie-dyes
In the ’60s and ’70s, tie-dye was poppin’. Then it died and no one was seen wearing it. However, in the past couple of years, the tie-dye trend resurrected during the pandemic because everyone was at home and wore only their lounge outfit regardless of whether they had class or work. Now, since everything is starting to go back to how it was, the tie-dye trend has been dwindling since. Like they say, “Out of sight, out of mind.”
Color-Blocked Pants
The ultimate statement jeans that were introduced to us through Tik Tok and fashion people loved it. Color-blocked jeans were a fad for girls and boys to try and would instantly purchase them at fast fashion brand outlets. However, this trend didn’t last that very long and stayed for only a few months. Normal denim jeans won over and color-blocked jeans simply faded away.
Birkenstocks
Comfy and simple. The perfect go-to footwear for when you just want to go for an errand run or to meet up with your friends at a local cafe. Birkenstocks were a huge trend not only for their easy slip-on shoe but also for how super comfortable they are that your feet don’t tire for a long period of time. This trend like the Color-Blocked Pants has faded away and you won’t see people donning this shoe anymore and opting for just sandals.
In the end, trends are never-ending and sometimes can be cyclical too. You never know, you might see these fashion pieces pop up again sooner or later.
