The on-and-off national lockdown over the past two years has been really exhausting. Just when we think we can go out, we suddenly can’t; and just when we think case numbers are going down – not really, too. So, to you who are so sick of being stuck at home and need a breather, ya ready to hear this? Ta-da, Singapore has just announced the extension of the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) for Malaysia! This means that starting from 29 November 2021, fully vaccinated peeps can travel between Singapore’s Changi Airport and Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) or Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA 2) without having to serve a quarantine order or stay-at-home notice.
“The VTL scheme is a significant milestone to allow for the gradual resumption of travel between Singapore and Malaysia. Singapore stands ready to welcome the return of Malaysian travellers to the city with our tourism partners. Travellers can look forward to a new standard of travel tailored to your changing needs and new experiences filled with reinvented, fresh and innovative offerings that ignite your passion. When you’re ready, come reimagine your travel experience in Singapore.” said John Gregory Conceicao, Executive Director, Southeast Asia, Singapore Tourism Board.
Fully vaccinated Malaysian travellers looking to travel to Singapore via the VTL scheme can submit applications from 22 November 2021. You can also download the VisitSingapore Travel Guide app from the App Store or Google Play to optimise your experience and navigate the city with ease. And because the app allows travellers to locate and bookmark places of interest, you can discover all that you can in Singapore and enjoy your lovely trip to the max!
