The feeling of seeing our very own homegrown artistes appearing on the international stage never gets tiring. Recently, Malaysian’s up-and-coming girl group, Dolla, made its debut on the hottest billboard in the world, right in New York City’s Times Square – and every Malaysian is beaming with pride.

It is not the first time a Malaysian artiste has been proudly featured in Times Square, as Yuna and Layla Sania also made their marks on the renowned digital billboard. Dolla appeared as representatives of Malaysian artistes in Spotify’s EQUAL Singapore and Malaysia campaign.
EQUAL is a global programme that “aims to foster equity for women in audio and nurturing equity by highlighting female artistes around the world”, according to its press statement.
“Words just cannot express how we feel right now. This is such a huge honour for a newly formed vocal group like us and we hope we can continue to live up to the expectations of our fans,” said Sabronzo, speaking on behalf of her group.
The four-member group was formed in 2019 and began making ripples in the local music scene with their envelope-pushing image and contemporary music brand. Adding to their colourful portfolio are their sensational dance moves and novel dress sense, which have earned them an army of fans.
Dolla first captured the hearts of Malaysians with their sensational hits, Dolla Makes You Wanna and Impikan.
