Cartier has always stood for women’s empowerment from the very beginning and their efforts continue to thrive in inspiring women all over the world. Now, Cartier is the official collaborator for the first-ever Expo 2020 in Dubai which will take place from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022 which is expected to be the largest yet with over 190 participating nations including Malaysia.

Apart from being the first World Expo to be held in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region, this expo supersedes preceding ones as Expo 20202 is the first one to have a stand-alone pavilion dedicated to women since the 1990s. The pavilion’s purpose is to join forces with Cartier in celebrating women change-makers from all around the globe and championing women issues. The Women’s Pavilion also signifies the reaffirming commitment to breaking gender stereotypes and a safe space for both men and women to share constructive ideas to support women empowerment.

“At Cartier, women have always held a pivotal role, as a driving force and an endless source of inspiration,” said Cyrille Vigneron, the CEO of Cartier.

The exhibition titled “New Perspectives” will feature significant women who have made a positive impact to the world and bring into perspective problems women continue to face till today.

“The international community has made progress in gender equality and women’s empowerment, but much more needs to be done. By welcoming visitors from across the planet and from every walk of life, Expo 2020 Dubai is a unique, powerful platform that will drive the necessary attention to this issue,” Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General, Expo 2020 Dubai, said

Apart from the individual pavilion for every country, there will be sustainable pavilions following the theme of Terra Sustainability Pavilion, following strict standards of accreditation for sustainable architecture.

As gender inequality persists and continues to impact women lives, the imperative to show unity and togetherness in promoting women empowerment has become ever clearer.
