While the pandemic continues to propagate the whole world, it is becoming increasingly apparent that widespread vaccination is needed to help curb it!

Physical isolation, universal face coverings, and regular handwashing are all beneficial, but they aren’t completely effective and are futile if they are not followed properly. This is due to COVID-19 being highly infectious and possibly a lethal illness.

As a result, the rapid production of mRNA vaccines and other vaccines to avoid COVID-19 has finally started, and many people are rushing to get a vaccine, although a small few remain on the fence.

After much research at the same time some trial and errors, the vaccination to combat the virus has finally been birthed and is being sent out nationwide as a hindrance from the virus. Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, the director-general of health, said that those reporting side effects are quite exceptionally rare.

Merely only four out of every one million patients who took the Covid-19 vaccine encountered evident side effects from the vaccines.

However, these are the possible common side effects that shall be acknowledged by those intending to be vaccinated :

  • Pfizer- BioNTech; US, Germany: Tiredness, headache, muscle pain, chills, joint pain and fever.

  • Moderna; US: Unwellness for several days.

  • Johnson & Johnson; US: Fever, fatigue, headache and myalgia.

  • Oxford- AstraZeneca; UK, Sweden: Unwellness, tiredness, chills, fever, headache and nausea.

  • Sinopharm; China: Headache, muscle, ache and fever.

  • Sinovac; China: Fever, mild pain and slight fatigue.

  • Gamaleya; Russia: Flu-like symptoms.

Consequently, the information we have on the efficacy and protection of COVID-19 vaccines is promising. Minor side effects are common, however serious allergic reactions are rare. Many people mostly delay vaccines because of the side effects associated with them.

Malaysia is currently sitting on the leader board with 10% of them successfully being vaccinated!

Thus, our Malaysian government is vigilantly monitoring the side effects of those that have been vaccinated and any updates pertaining to it shall be updated accordingly.
