So it’s here! The day of the celebration of love, and one of Hallmark’s most endearing occasions. There’s a lot of history of how Valentine’s Day originally came about. And with those documentations come a lot of different variations. But we know one thing’s for sure – it’s a day of expressions. Good expressions.
“The day first became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.
By the 15th century, it had evolved into an occasion in which lovers expressed their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as “Valentines”).”
“Modern Valentine’s Day symbols include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten valentines have given way to mass-produced greeting cards.”

Having said that, Valentine’s Day is not just limited to couples (dating or married) alone. We know that for a fact because even Google is showing their love on this very day! That’s right. That went out to all of you, single or attached:

So go on and give the next person you see a hug and a wish (minus the creepiness, of course!) because Valentine’s Day truly is a celebration of love. And we at Lipstiq would like to do the same – to wish you nothing but love and happiness today, and perhaps for the entire month of February.
Happy Valentine’s Day, lovelies!
