DIY: Strawberry Foaming Salt Scrub For Glowing Skin

It’s time to get your skin prepped for the festive season which is just a stone throw away. Achieving glowy skin doesn’t happen overnight and that’s why you should a few weeks in advance, while also avoiding all the last minute festive stress. While visiting the spa for a much needed facial seems a little far-fetched with our current pandemic situation, you can always bring spa to your own home! What’s better, it’ll not only save you a ton of money, but time as well since many of us are working from home.

With many DIY home remedies vastly available, it can confusing which works best because you cant get glowy, dewy, hydrated and glassy skin all in one go, and that’s where you might getting off track. Firstly, you need to know your skin type whether it’s oily, dry or combination skin. Then, the end result you’re wanting to achieve, be it glowy, even skin tone, and others. Once you have that checklist marked, you can easily source for the remedy best for your skin!

If you’re looking for a unique scrubs that screams yummy and delicious, this recipe is for you. With strawberry being the hero ingredient in this recipe, it’s bound to do wonders for your skin as well as your senses! Nothing beats a good fruity scrub on your skin. Strawberry fruit powder is rich in polyphenols and Vitamin C and has toning properties when used in skincare products.

Additionally, this recipe uses dendritic salt in lieu of regular salt. Dendritic salt has a finer grain and larger surface area than other salts which offers greater fragrance retention in cosmetic applications. You can opt for regular or Pink Himalayan salt if you want to.

Here’s how you can make this stunning strawberry foaming salt scrub at home.

Strawberry Smoothie Foaming Salt Scrub Recipe

What you’ll need:

8 oz. (227 grams) foaming bath whip

14 oz. (113 grams) dendritic salt

1 oz. (28 grams) strawberry fruit powder

.25 oz. (7 grams) strawberry fragrance oil

2 teaspoons Fuschia Pink mica powder

Instructions:

In a large container, weigh out the foaming bath whip base and the fragrance oil. Mix together. In a separate container, weight out the salt and strawberry fruit powder. Measure out the mica powder using a measuring spoon.

Once that is all done, mix the mica, strawberry powder and salt together then pour into the scented foaming bath whip base, mixing with a spatula as you go. (P.S, avoid the temptation of eating the concoction, because the smell will surely lure you!)

After the dry ingredients are incorporated into the scented foaming bath whip base, mix well with a hand mixer on high speed for 3-5 minutes. Just like that, your scrub is almost at the finish line.

After that, all you need to do is pipe or spoon in your mixture in your preferred container.

To make it aesthetically pleasing, clear glass jars will be the perfect choice. Add on a ribbon or wood string with a name sticker (optional), and it’s a great gift for your friends or family.

How to use the foaming salt scrub

Use this scrub just like how you would with any other. Simply remove desired amount and massage onto damp skin in the shower to cleanse, tone and exfoliate, then rinse off.
