Pocket Angel was created in 2020 in response to an increase in cases of violence and abuse against women.

Domestic abuse has risen from the year 2000 to 2018, according to statistics provided by the Women’s Aid Organisation (WAO), especially on violence against women. In the year 2000, there were 3468 incidents of domestic abuse but reaching 2018, the figure increased to 5513!
Sumitra Visvanathan, executive director of the Women’s Aid Organisation (WAO), indicated that Malaysia’s principle is improved in this area and that it be treated as a serious crime in order to avoid unnecessary fatalities.
