Halle Berry has been in the papers a lot lately but for all the wrong reasons. The Academy Award winning actress and her ex-boyfriend, Gabriel Aubry, are embroiled in a battle over the custody of Nahla Ariela Aubry, their 4-year-old daughter.
Berry is trying to keep Aubry from having visitation rights for their daughter, Nahla, in the wake of an alleged incident between Aubry and his nanny. The nanny claimed Aubry had been abusive towards her and tried getting a restraining order against him.
The court, however, turned down the nanny’s request but Berry’s legal team is still fighting for sole custody of the child.
Since the fairly amicable split in 2010, Berry and Aubry had joint custody of Nahla. Berry is currently dating Oliver Martinez, having met on the set of their upcoming movie, Dark Tide.
However, yesterday when Berry and Aubry were in court for yet another episode in this soon to be lengthy trial. Berry filed a request to relocate to France with Nahla, simple because she fears for their lives.
Richard Franco, a man convicted of stalking Berry, has been released from prison and this has been giving Berry sleepless night or so she claims. There has been speculation that this move has the sole purpose of separating Aubry from his daughter. The fact that her current boyfriend is French hasn’t helped her case at all.
This whole fiasco has caused poor Halle Berry to receive attacks by various parties. Some even went as far as “branding” her quest for sole custody as “childish” and “tactless”. Sigh.
