Batman fans may have to wait a little longer for the release of the ‘The Batman’, as one of the member of the production has been tested positive with Covid-19. This comes days after resuming filming in Britain, following initial response to stop production.
In a statement to AFP, Warner Bros. confirmed:
“A member of ‘The Batman’ production has tested positive for Covid-19, and is isolating in accordance with established protocols. Filming is temporarily paused.”
Warner Bros. did not confirm which staff member was tested positive, nor when the film will resume production. Nevertheless, the US media have been circulating news from “a highly placed source” that the infected person is none other than the leading actor Robert Pattinson himself.
Multiple publications like Variety, Vanity Fair, The Guardian and The Hollywood Reporter have reported confirming that the 34-year-old ‘Twilight’ star has tested positive. However, neither Pattinson nor his reps can be reached for comment.
The filming of the movie had just started three days before the statement made regarding the unscheduled delay. The movie was initially set to be released in June 2021 which was then pushed back to October 2021. However, looking at the current situation of the pandemic, the deadline seems far-fetched as there could be further delays.
