Naomi Watanabe, a popular Japanese comedian has been a loyal fan of Lady Gaga for the longest time and her latest parody proves it. The impressionist shot a new parody on Mother Monster’s new music video “Rain On Me” with Ariana Grande with the blessings of the original creators. Watanabe describes Gaga as “a mother-like presence who envelops me in a cosmic way,” shares that she was stunned with Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s energy when she first encountered the song in May. That’s when she realized that she had a strong desire to parody the visuals.

Lady Gaga approves the parody and applaud the video, writing, “I CANT EVEN WITH THE SERVE.”

A fellow comedian, Yuriyan Retriever, was recruited and given to perform the part of Grande. The collaboration between the strong on-screen duo is the first in the series of parody which was premiered on her YouTube channel, NAOMI CLUB. The video has received over 13 million views thus far.

While the comedians managed to mimic the intensity from the original video, the parody also entailed a good mixture of artistry and comedy for maximum effect. It is seen clearly that the performance shown by the duo is hands down the best in their careers. Watanabe received full support from the team and managed to shoot this video after the COVID-19 state of emergency was lifted in Japan. The entire production of the video was shot while practicing strict social-distancing measures.
