Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Jonas! Nick Jonas, 26, and Priyanka Chopra, 36, got married over the weekend after a four-month engagement in a lavish three-day affair in Jodhpur, India. The wedding festivities totalled an estimated US$584,000 and was definitely one to remember.
On Saturday, the festivities started with a Christian ceremony at the luxurious Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace, which was officiated by the the groom’s father Paul. The couple also honoured the bride’s faith with Hindu ceremonies, including a mehendi ritual, and a musical Sangeet ceremony.
Chopra donned a custom gown by American designer Ralph Lauren for her Western ceremony, and that’s just one of the multiple more than stunning outfits she opted to wear, including a vibrant, multi-coloured, custom embroidered traditional Indian lehenga.
The couple also wrote the sweetest caption on Instagram regarding their official union as a married couple, “One of the most special things that our relationship has given us is a merging of families who love and respect each other’s faiths and cultures. And so planning our wedding with an amalgamation of both was so so amazing. An important part of the pre wedding rituals for the girl in an Indian wedding if the Mehendi. Once again we made it our own and it was an afternoon that kicked off the celebrations in the way we both dreamed.”
