It’s been an exciting year for LA Ink star and beauty mogul Kat Von D. Not only did she get married, she is also expecting her first child with her now husband Leafar Seyer right after unveiling an epic eyebrow collection under her eponymous brand Kat Von D Beauty. That said, the unapologetic mother-to-be has stirred up major controversy just days ago.

Kat Von D recently revealed that her pans on having “a natural, drug-free home birth in water with a midwife and doula” and that she “has the intention of raising a vegan child, without vaccinations.” Evidently, that spurred major backlash from concerned fans and supporters, as well as her own father who “flipped-out” on her decision.
Sssooo turns out Kat Von D is anti-vax and will be sending an un-vaccinated kid out into the world to straight up murder someone’s immunocompromised child.
With that in mind, do any of my people have alternative recommendations for her brand’s eyeliner and lipsticks?

The question is.. What exactly does being anti-vaccination mean and why is it such a disputed issue? Most babies and children go through routine immunisations to gradually build up their body’s immunity system to protect them against vaccine-preventable diseases such as polio, tetanus, hepatitis B and so on.
Though it has long been a customary practice for many parents, the rise of autism rates in young children have left desperate parents scrambling to pinpoint the cause. The unfortunate result? Many of them are convinced that vaccines are to blame, and thus began the campaigning against widespread vaccination.
While autism is only one of the many grounds for off-grid parents to curb vaccination completely, various health experts and doctors are warning against the risks and dangers these anti-vaxxers are posing, not only for their own children but for the entire community.
Not only are these unvaccinated children at greater risk of vaccine-preventable diseases, a majority of a population has to be immune to an infection in order to impede the chains of infection affecting said population. In other words, these diseases may spread like wildfire in daycares, kindergartens and schools as well as higher education institutions.
It could easily be a matter of life or death for them, especially those who are born weaker to begin with – and you or your child could very well be the one who kickstarts an epidemic. Yes, it is every parent’s right to decide how they want to raise their children, but this isn’t about discipline we’re discussing. It’s about their wellbeing.
Whether you decide to go all-natural or choose vaccinations, we urge all parents to come to a decision rationally and be well-informed or updated on the latest findings about vaccination. Getting vaccinated can save lives and prevent deaths. Don’t be disillusioned and let the side effects outweigh the long-term benefits of vaccination before it is far too late.
