With good teen dramas come awesome music soundtracks and it’s no different with our favourite hit series, Gossip Girl. After 5 long heart-thumping (and sometimes heartbreaking) seasons, you can now have some of the best songs from the series on your iPod as you trample through your own daily dramas. We wished it was actually a double disc compilation because really, 13 tracks doesn’t seem like a lot don’t you think?
This is Gossip Girl’s first soundtrack and it’s cheekily titled OMFGG — Original Music Featured on Gossip Girl No. 1, compiled by The O.C.’s former music supervisor, Alexandra Patsavas. You can purchase the whole album off Amazon.com or iTunes here. It’s a pretty good compilation and which had us head bopping all week long, it’s fun to guess which scene each track is from and we like how the selection is not your typical radio replays.
We hear that the folks of Gossip Girl will also be launching an entire site devoted to music on the show so keep an ear out for that but for now, here are the 13 tracks that are on the OMFGG album:
The Kills – “Sour Cherry”
The Kooks – “Do You Wanna”
Phantom Planet – “Do the Panic”
The Teenagers – “Feeling Better”
The Virgins – “One Week of Danger (Demo Version)”
Nadia Oh – “Got Your Number”
Crystal Castles – “Crimewave”
The Republic Tigers – “Fight Song”
Junkie XL – “Cities in Dust”
The Ting Tings – “We Started Nothing”
Oppenheimer – “Breakfast in NYC”
The Pierces – “Three Wishes”
Albert Hammond Jr. – “Hard to Live in the City”
Meanwhile, if you’d like to check out the rest of (yes we mean every song ever featured on Gossip Girl) the music from the series, you can go to GossipGirl.tv, a fansite for a complete list of tracks as well as the links where you can legally purchase them.
