The controversial horror film Dukun by none other than award-winning director Dain Said will finally be released on April 5th 2018, after being shelved for 10 years.
The production company, Astro Shaw, announced the premiere date of the movie on April 1 and has since then shared a few teasers via Instagram.
Dukun follows the investigation into the death of a Malaysian politician who was murdered by a bomoh, played by actress Datin Paduka Umie Aida.
If it all sounds familiar, that’s because Dukun‘s screenplay is written based on the sensationalised case of Mona Fandey, the singer-turned-witch doctor who made headlines for the murder of politician Mazlan Idris in 1993. She was executed after conviction in 2001 at age 45.
The film was completed in 2007, but was never released until now. Will you be watching it in cinemas?! Dukun will be out April 5th 2018.
