No matter how many times you wash the Beautyblender thoroughly, and even so with the original Beautyblender Cleanser, there is bound to be some stains left behind on your little makeup sponge. That said, this new cleaning hack apparently makes those pesky things look brand new.
A law undergraduate from South London tweeted a video that has now been viewed over 1.8 million times, “Apparently putting your beauty blenders in the microwave cleans them.” Her video consisted of short clips of the process. After soaking the sponges in water, she pops them into a microwave for one minute.

The result is MAGIC! The water turns a dirty brown colour, but the Beautyblenders? Wow. They come out looking brand new. Of course, it didn’t take long for makeup lovers around the world to give a hack a go, some people HILARIOUSLY did it wrong, resulting in.. well, a melted mess.

Guys, if you’re going to try the hack out, please be careful! Also, remember that the water will be BOILING HOT when you go to try squeeze your freshly microwaved Beautyblenders, so give it a while before you do so.
