Kuala Lumpur undoubtedly has a great nightlife scene and it is one of the things we pride ourselves for whenever our foreign friends come over. The fact that it isn’t against the law to party until sunrise at 5am is also another bonus.. until now as the Kuala Lumpur City Hall announced that it will be reviewing the special permission given to TREC KL to operate until 5am.
KL’s mayor Tan Sri Mhd Amin Nordin Abdul Aziz has said that they are looking to shortening the operation hours for TREC KL following police advice. While the police have advised for the entertainment outlets to be closed by 1am, other authorities have clarified that there is no problem for them to operate until 3am. A Cabinet paper will be prepared to revise the hours.
On another note, he added there have been complaints raised in Taman Tun Dr Ismail and Bangsar, where a lot of entertainment outlets are located. Those aforementioned locations are essentially housing areas, and the mayor carried on saying that those outlets may also be relocated.
Noooo.. What will become of our favourite nightlife spots?!
