Another music icon bites the dust, and this time it is Cranberries’ lead singer Dolores O’Riordan, who was found dead at a hotel in London at the age of 46, her publicist had announced.
The Irish rock star was in London for a recording session with her band D.A.R.K, and her publicist did not state the cause of death, although she did mention that it was “sudden”.
The full statement read: “Irish and international singer Dolores O’Riordan has died suddenly in London today. She was 46 years old.”
“The lead singer with the Irish band The Cranberries was in London for a short recording session. No further details are available at this time.”
“Family members are devastated to hear the breaking news and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.” She last posted a photo of herself with her cat on Twitter on January 4.

Her death hits those born in the ’80s and the ’90s especially hard as O’Riordan found fame with emblematic hits such as “Zombie” and “Dream”. Rest in peace..
