In case you missed it, Apple has been throttling older iPhones on the latest iOS version if it detects an aged battery. But that’s okay, because they immediately apologised after receiving a number of lawsuits, and claimed that it was just a “misunderstanding”.
Anyway, good news for you Apple folks as the tech giant is offering to get your battery replaced with a discount of RM240 less! You can do it through Apple’s authorised service provider, Machines, which will cost you around RM137 (inclusive of RM64 labour charge and GST). This is way better than the original price of RM369.
However, before you submit your iPhones, do note that the estimation of the whole process is five to seven working days (excl. weekends and public holidays), and prepare a spare phone for yourself as no loaner/temporary unit will be provided.
Accessories such as screen protector/tempered glass is not covered and considered once the unit is surrendered. Don’t forget to ensure all data is backed-up too, as everything will be erased once the unit is surrendered at the service centres.
For those who are interested, the service is available at Machines service outlets in Suria KLCC, The Curve and Northpoint Mid Valley. You can also schedule an appointment through Apple’s Support page, or visit Apple Malaysia to know more.
