Now, there’s more reason to hang out in Mid Valley Megamall as the shopping haven is now home to the first ever hybrid Virtual Reality (VR) theme park! Expected to open its doors to the public in January 2018, The Rift hosts 15 different virtual reality experiences that put you in physical training.
Battle your way through the virtual world of Zero Latency while you fight against aliens and a zombie attack in a game of Outbreak or Zombie Survival. The theme park also allows you to solve puzzles in the Engineerium or even rescue a spaceship filled with survivors in Singularity.
Equipped with the best of Augmented Reality (AR) technology, The Rift offers the best of virtual-reality experiences. Go on a 4D ride on the Motion Blaster and you’ll get what we mean – it’s so realistic you can even feel the wind setting while you go on a deathly gun-war with the predators.
For all you thrill seekers, be prepared for a 360-degree flying adventure with the Hurricane VR that basically straps you up and turns you upside down.
Taking the VR/AR tech to another level, the virtual reality theme park combines motion sensor, head-mounted devices and your smartphones to bring you flame-throwing HADO’s Augmented Reality match. While you’re at it, roam through a realistic car racing game in the Race Room.
Virtual reality experiences aside, the theme park hits thrill-seekers with physically-challenging activities including wall-climbing and free falls that are not meant for those with a weak heart. In hopes to provide family-friendly entertainment, The Rift extends the fun for juniors in The Rift Junior and Junior Rope Courses for children under the age of 12.
For an opening promotional price of RM98, thrill-seekers get to enjoy the virtual reality fun through The Rift Package which includes the star attraction, Zero Latency and 10 other rides. Otherwise, visitors may opt for the Exit Reality package that is priced at RM55, which excludes access to Zero Latency.
